Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian is scheduled to visit New Delhi in September for the 18th BRICS Summit, according to a report by news agency ANI citing Iranian sources. This summit, hosted by India during its 2026 BRICS chairmanship, will gather leaders from major emerging economies to discuss key issues such as cooperation, trade, security, and global development. Pezeshkian’s visit is anticipated to enhance dialogue between India and Iran, particularly concerning regional stability amid rising tensions in West Asia.
During discussions linked to the BRICS Foreign Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Tehran remains open to diplomacy and welcomes support from friendly countries. Araghchi said Iran will continue to play a key role in protecting maritime trade and ensuring the smooth movement of commercial traffic through the strategic waterway.

President Pezeshkian is set to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bilateral discussions during the upcoming summit.
