Angry villagers and family members later blocked the Pune-Nashik Highway, demanding the death penalty for the accused and a fast-track trial in the case. A nine-year-old girl was allegedly raped and murdered in Maharashtra’s Pune district, with police arresting a 25-year-old neighbour in connection with the crime.
