On Thursday, August 20, Divya Mishra, a relationship manager at ICICI Bank, was shot outside the bank located in Gomti Nagar’s Vivek Khand area. According to police reports, her husband, Manas Vajpayee, had called her to meet him outside the bank shortly before the shooting occurred. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation, and further details have yet to be released.
Vajpayee, who was allegedly waiting for her, talked to her for a while before shooting her in the head at close range. She was rushed to hospital but was declared dead. “When the police reached the spot, they found that the woman had been shot by her husband. Reports also suggested that divorce proceedings were underway, although investigators were still examining the circumstances surrounding their dispute. After the shooting, Divya’s sister Pragya posted about the incident on social media. Police and forensic teams reached the scene and began collecting evidence.
