In a shocking incident in Rangpur city, Bangladesh, a retired Hindu schoolteacher, his wife, and their two children were discovered dead in their locked home. Police suspect foul play in the circumstances surrounding their deaths. Authorities have since detained two men in connection with the case as investigations continue.

Police broke the lock on the house before recovering the bodies. The bodies were recovered around 11:30 pm on Saturday from a house in the Daspara (Machhuapara) area of Rangpur, according to Nazmul Kader, officer-in-charge of Rangpur Metropolitan Kotwali Police Station.

Family’s reaction

A niece of Ganapati’s said she had also spoken to him on Thursday, before travelling to the house after learning of the deaths on Saturday night. The family had recently built a new house in the Daspara area, where they were living at the time of the deaths.

Two Men Arrested in Connection with Child Deaths

Police have arrested two men, identified as Mughdho and Siddhartha, in relation to the deaths of two children in Rangpur. According to Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud, the suspects allegedly accessed the rooftop of the Chakraborty residence from a neighboring building on Thursday night for the purpose of consuming drugs.

Details regarding the circumstances of the children’s deaths have not yet been disclosed by the police. The investigation is ongoing, with assistance from the Criminal Investigation Department and the Detective Branch.
