A woman died and two persons were injured after a tree branch fell on them inside the state-run SSKM Hospital premises here on Monday, a police officer said.

Two persons, identified as Zillar Rahman (68) and Shish Mohammad Sheikh (76), were also injured in the incident and are undergoing treatment at the trauma care unit of the hospital, he said. Sheikh, who had come to the hospital for treatment of his kidney ailment, was waiting there since around 3 am to get a date for surgery, the police said.

In a separate incident, a man was injured after a tree fell on him near the SSKM hospital’s nephrology department, a hospital official said.
