A former airhostess and her alleged aide have been arrested for trying to smuggle drugs worth Rs 30 lakh from Gujarat’s Vadodara to Mumbai, with the investigation revealing the woman’s long history of drug dealing.

Subsequently, Sayed and Shaikh were arrested. She ended up spending nearly four years in the case. Officials said that Mansi had been in contact with the drug network since 2015. She has a long history of drug dealing and was previously arrested in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore in 2021 after the police found her with around 100 grams of drugs.

During interrogation, they revealed that they had rented a car from Mumbai and had travelled to Vadodara to take the drugs back. Investigation further revealed that once the drugs reached Mumbai, they would have been divided into smaller packets for supply. Investigation revealed that the accused, Mansi, was a former air hostess who worked with Malaysian Airlines and had travelled to various countries.

They had received the drug consignment from an unidentified woman near the Vadodara railway station. The police are now probing the connection between her past and present contacts in the drug network. Mansi’s connection with the drug supply networks in various areas of Madhya Pradesh was revealed during the investigation of the 2021 case, according to the police.
