There were unruly scenes of attempts to throw microphones on Congress MLAs by a BJP MLA. Two BJP leaders were marshalled out. Subsequently, two Congress members also tried to enter the well of the house. The BJP strongly opposed it and tore up the copies of the resolution. Sunil Sharma, Leader of the Opposition in the assembly, has also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and discussed the ongoing session of the assembly. “The BJP is a party that keeps its promises. BJP is committed to restoring statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. “This resolution is only about the restoration of statehood. This resolution will also expose the real enemies of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. “Statehood is not for my government, it’s not for my party. It’s for the identity of Jammu and Kashmir.
If anyone is trying to sabotage the restoration of statehood, it is Chief Minister Omar Abdullah,” Sharma said. Abdullah said that for the last two years, he has been pleading with the central government for the restoration of statehood but nothing has been done. He alleged that the local BJP leadership is against the restoration of statehood and they stood “exposed”. Who wants restoration of statehood and who is against it?” the chief minister said. It’s for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Abdullah said, adding his party has given enormous sacrifices for the nation and it doesn’t need any certificate from the BJP.
