England captain Harry Kane recently beat the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Lamine Yamal to win the prestigious Ballon d’Or award. It was the ultimate culmination of a career that has seen him reach the heights of the sport. He became just the fifth Englishman to win the award, after Sir Stanley Matthews (1956), Sir Bobby Charlton (1966), Kevin Keegan (1978 and 1979), and Michael Owen (2001). Kane’s contributions helped England finish third at the FIFA World Cup 2026 earlier this summer, the Three Lions’ best finish at a World Cup since winning the tournament in 1966.
The forward, Europe’s top scorer last season, also won the Bundesliga title, DFB-Pokal and Franz Beckenbauer Supercup with Bayern Munich.
Recently, in a pre-match press conference ahead of Bayern’s UEFA Champions League clash against Atletico Madrid at the Wanda Metropolitano, Kane was asked whether he was “star-struck” by any congratulatory message.
