Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday slammed Congress leader and former Union home minister P Chidambaram over the ” Dimagi Naxal” controversy, accusing him of being part of what he described as a wider effort to create unrest in the country.

Referring to Chidambaram’s remark, Sarma said the statement should be investigated to determine whether the former home minister had any prior knowledge of attacks in which Congress leaders were killed. “As Chidambaram himself has said, ‘I am a dimagi Naxal’, there should be an investigation into whether he knowingly failed to take action during his tenure as home minister,” Sarma added. Sarma said the situation had changed during the tenure of Union Home Minister Amit Shah and claimed that the improvement in the security situation had unsettled the Congress.
