DMK president MK Stalin has unveiled significant changes to the party’s organizational framework, aimed at integrating younger members into key roles. The reforms, which include age limits and term caps for several important positions, were ratified during the DMK Executive Committee meeting at Anna Arivalayam in Chennai. The party emphasized that these changes are designed to infuse ‘new blood’ into its structure, reflecting a commitment to rejuvenate its leadership.
Stalin Admits Party’s Shortcomings
Earlier reporting noted: The DMK, the principal opposition in Tamil Nadu, on Saturday unveiled a structural overhaul in its organisation fixing strict age caps and limiting term for party posts, news agency PTI reported. DMK MP P Wilson welcomed the move, describing it as a positive change. “These are good structural reforms. It is a welfare measure. “Although there are several reasons for our defeat, the functioning of our party office-bearers is also one of them. There is no need for us to hide that. We must first acknowledge our mistakes. We must acknowledge them openly. “I have decided to bring many changes in the DMK’s administrative structure. There will be harsh changes. A few will get disappointed over it but it will be for a good reason. I request everyone’s cooperation. Our actions should be aimed at restoring trust by youth and women. We are introducing age and term limits for party positions. Party chief Stalin chaired the meeting.
