Mitchell Starc produced a match-winning performance against Bangladesh in the second Test in Mackay, claiming 10 wickets to help Australia secure an innings and 51 run victory on Sunday.
Starc is currently 11th on the all-time list and needs six more wickets to move past former New Zealand pacer Tim Southee, who has 776 international wickets. Sri Lanka great Muttiah Muralitharan remains the leading wicket-taker in international cricket with 1,347 wickets.
Bangladesh struggled again in the second innings, with Starc taking four wickets while Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon claimed three each. The visitors were dismissed for 95, giving Australia a dominant innings victory.Starc was named Player of the Match for his 10-wicket performance.
