Amid speculation over a change in the Punjab Congress leadership ahead of the forthcoming 2027 assembly polls, Former PWD Minister and MP Vijay Inder Singla on Thursday said he was a “loyal soldier” of the party while asserting that all were working together under the leadership of Amarinder Singh Raja Warring.

Singla said he was currently working in his home district, Sangrur, which he described as a stronghold of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), and was working alongside Congress workers and leaders. Asked whether he would visit the Congress office in Delhi, he said, “Some matters are internal.
Earlier, Congress appointed Sachin Pilot as the party’s general secretary incharge of Punjab, replacing former Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel. Earlier reporting noted: Warring’s resignation follows the Congress high command’s decision to replace him as the state party chief.
