Four students died after being hit by a train in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam district, officials said.
Another student was injured in the incident that occurred near Tekkali. Body parts were seen strewn on the track. Tekkali Revenue Divisional Officer (RDO) and police officers examined the scene. Another student, Salmon Raju, was injured in the incident. He was admitted to a government hospital in Tekkali. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep shock over the deaths of four students. He termed the incident and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families. The Chief Minister inquired about the incident and gathered details from officials.
Because the students failed to notice the approaching train, officials said that the accident occurred.
The students were walking on the track and failed to notice the approaching Rajya Rani Express and were mowed down, according to police.
A police officer said they have registered a case and launched an investigation.
