A violent altercation occurred between rival student groups near Gate Number 4 of the Delhi University Arts Faculty just hours before the DUSU 2026 elections were set to begin. One student sustained serious injuries during the incident and was subsequently transported to a hospital for treatment. In response to the violence, a significant presence of police and paramilitary forces has been deployed across the North Campus to maintain order and ensure the safety of students.
Police intervention : North District DCP Niharika Bhatt reached the site along with a large number of police force. Admin mistakes : This happened even though Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh had held high-level security meetings with Delhi Police to conduct polls peacefully.
Medical aid : The victim student was rushed to Hindu Rao Hospital for medical care.
CCTV footage check : The investigation is being carried out by investigators through CCTV footage of the Arts Faculty to identify and punish the active participants.
