Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Kochi and Bengaluru on Friday. His itinerary includes several official events, notably a significant ceremony for the handover of indigenously developed aircraft and helicopters to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and Pawan Hans Ltd. This visit underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing indigenous defence capabilities.
“Later in the evening, I will be in Bengaluru (Karnataka) to attend the handing-over ceremony of LCA Tejas FOC Twin Seater Trainers & HTT 40 Basic Trainer Aircraft to the Indian Air Force and Dhruv NG helicopters to Pawan Hans Ltd.
Singh said in a post on X that he would begin his engagements in Kerala before travelling to Karnataka for defence-related programmes. Looking forward to it,” the Defence Minister said.
The government has placed a strong focus on indigenous design, development and manufacturing in the aerospace and defence sectors. The induction of the new platforms is aimed at further strengthening domestic capabilities and reducing dependence on foreign sources.
