India captain Shreyas Iyer poked fun at his West Indies counterpart Shai Hope ahead of the toss

India captain Shreyas Iyer poked fun at his West Indies counterpart Shai Hope ahead of the toss for the fourth T20I at the Uppal Stadium in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The Indian skipper’s antics left Hope in splits as the two shared a laugh before Shreyas officially spun the coin for the toss.

As former India head coach and presenter Ravi Shastri was going through his routine pre-toss proceedings, Shreyas pretended to toss the coin even before the official call.

“Yeah, exactly, that’s one of the major reasons. We have a fair idea about how it’s playing in the first innings. So based on that, we took this decision.

Because i saw the surface, but obviously looking at the conditions and dew not coming into play, it is going to be a little bit of intense and see there’s going to be bounce as well to offer. The groundsman said that it’s 75% red and 25% black and we’ve played on such wickets before.

It’s pretty hard,” said Shreyas.

The Indian skipper revealed that the decision to chase was primarily driven by the relaid surface at the venue, with the team also keen to bat second for the first time in the series.
