Former Indian all rounder Yuvraj Singh has strongly cautioned the national team management against introducing any sudden or drastic roster changes as preparations ramp up for the ODI World Cup 2027. ‘Every country has a different set of players. Some teams have more allrounders, some teams have more specific batters and bowlers,’ Yuvraj remarked. ‘You have to go with the best combination. Whether you want to play an extra spinner, fast bowler or allrounder, you have got to go with the best. He advised the squad to channel this winning momentum while keeping their immediate sights set on reaching the semi finals before stressing over the pressure of the final stretch. ‘That’s something that we have also done in the last two T20 World Cups,’ Yuvraj added. So we have had a lot of consistency in white-ball cricket. And that’s what they need to do as well to think of first qualifying for the semis and then going on to play in the last two [knockout matches]. I think that’s a long way ahead. Focus should be to get a squad ready which is together and ready to fight in any situation.’
