Posters featuring Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, have appeared outside the Indian National Congress headquarters in New Delhi. The posters depict Gandhi as a ‘real-life Batman’ and include the tagline: ‘The silent guardian, a watchful protector. LoP Rahul Gandhi, the real-life Batman.’ This creative portrayal aims to enhance Gandhi’s public image in the political landscape.
Following his participation in the Jantar Mantar demonstration, Gandhi, along with Congress leaders and Sahil Lochav, who has alleged that pellet guns were used against him during the protest, staged a sit-in outside the Parliament Street Police Station on Friday. His remark subsequently fuelled online trends and memes among students and supporters.
During an “Ask Me Anything” session on Instagram, a participant asked him whether he was Batman. Gandhi responded jokingly and said, “Let’s just say that no one has ever seen me and Batman in the same room together.
The posters appear to draw on a light-hearted exchange between Gandhi and young citizens earlier this month.
